The easiest way to catch an unresponsive app is to check the cursor’s appearance. If you have multiple windows or applications open, it could be challenging to ascertain which is causing the rainbow spinning wheel to pop up. The overlays and framing-mostly lifted directly from the original Densha de D manga-really do make it look like you’re personally participating in the latest chapter, and the exuberant voice acting that goes with it only makes the whole experience feel even more thrilling. Have you just slid through a station? Make sure you enjoy the hand-picked camera angle on your reckless dash past the platform. This is honestly the best manga-style presentation I’ve seen in a game since Capcom’s fabulous EX Troopers. Pass an opponent’s train when there’s barely inches of track between the two? There’s probably an excitable voiceover and matching artwork to go with that. Every semi-exciting event will dynamically trigger an interactive cutscene with you as the star. No, because Lightning Stage is as much an interactive manga simulator as it is a racing game. The animations of trains themselves also accurately reflect their current state, and with practice it’s possible to learn the difference between “Wooo~! We’re going so fast!” vibrations and “This is dangerous, I need to ease off” shaking, which gives you the chance to focus on the race itself rather than keeping one eye on the UI, and also feel like a master train driver who just instinctively knows how to push these locomotives to the limit.īut what happens when you get used to all of that and perfect a race on a set track with one opponent? Is that it? ![]() Between those extremes you’ve got green (normal), orange (watch out), and red (you’ve lost control of the carriage and will just have to hope it’ll dramatically pop back into place, cartoon racer style). The top of the screen plainly shows the current status of each individual carriage, ranging from blue (drifting), to a dark red, which means a carriage has completely detached (this is “fine”, so long as it’s not the driver’s carriage). The good news is all the information you need to keep your train hurtling along at top speed is on the screen and ready for you to use. Sudden changes in the track-two lines converging, an upcoming station, your opponent catching up at exactly the wrong moment-can turn the perfect drift into a race-ending nightmare.īut most importantly of all you need to really control your speed on the corners if you don’t want to wobble off the rails, either dramatically losing speed for a short while or leaving the track entirely. Inclines make a palpable difference to your train’s speed, naturally needing a bit more oomph to go up a hill and gaining speed-whether you want it to or not-on a downward slope. There’s no need to worry about all the usual rules and regulations that define a typical train sim experience either, although instead of this apparent simplicity turning the game into a glorified slot car set Densha de D instead uses this opportunity to bring vibrant texture to other areas, giving the game depth in a different way. It’s a satisfying technique to pull off taking a side-on stance as the bend comes into view, correcting yourself on the straight so you’re ready for the next corner, quickly dancing between the lines to avoid an incoming obstacle while keeping the needle at the very edge of the speedometer’s upper limit. ![]() Mastering the art of multi-track drifting is the key to racing success, as hopping across two railway lines allows your train to keep or even safely increase its speed around the many tight corners found in these fictionalised takes on small stretches of Japan’s rail network. The manual even includes the complete first chapter at the back (or the front, depending on how you look at it), just so you can enjoy comparing and contrasting the original work and your own playthrough of Lightning Stage’s opening race.Īnd as for every other race in the game? Don’t worry, they’re a whole heap of fun whether you already have some idea of what’s to come or have never seen a train drift around a bend at impossible speeds in your life. This 2010 game’s based on the successful manga of the same name, and lifts its high-speed scenarios directly from the fantastic stories illustrated within. Looking for something in particular? After regrouping the next day, Prime used the glasses to locate the AllSpark. Optimus Prime, now in possession of the glasses which could tell him the location of the AllSpark, regretfully left Bumblebee in Sector Seven's hands, knowing that if they went after him, they would have to use deadly force. Bumblebee managed to catch them before impact but was captured, and Sam and Mikaela recaptured, by the organization after their retreat. While hiding under a bridge, Mikaela and Sam slipped and fell off Prime's shoulder. With a Sector Seven backup team en route, Prime ordered the Autobots to scatter, while he took Sam and Mikaela. The agents' lack of surprise at their appearance indicated that they had seen Cybertronians before, but Simmons refused to reveal any information. Optimus then ordered his comrades to relieve the agents of their weapons and attempted to interrogate Simmons. Prime intercepted the vehicle carrying their young human friends, ripping the roof of the vehicle off, with the other Autobots disarming the agents, and made it perfectly clear to Simmons how enraged he was at him for trying to apprehend the two children, regarding this as a bad move on Simmons' behalf. Optimus Prime sent the Autobots in pursuit of the SUV that contained Sam, Mikaela, and Sector Seven's director, Agent Simmons. Despite all this, their presence remained undetected until Sector Seven arrived and abducted Sam, Mikaela and Sam's parents. Ironhide suggested that he should kill the parents as they were very irritating, but Optimus scolded his old friend. When the parents came to investigate, Prime's attempt to avoid discovery caused the house to shake, as Ron jumps into an old cast-iron tub and stated that he hates earthquakes though this was to their benefit, as the father assumed that the damage to the yard was the result of an earthquake. Ultimately, Sam came so close to a panic attack that Prime was forced to order the Autobots to fall back. Prime's attempts to hide, such as having the Autobots transform into vehicle mode right in the backyard were also less than satisfactory. Much to Sam's exasperation, Optimus Prime, in his impatience, clumsily ruined his parents' garden. Optimus arrived at Sam's house and waited outside while Sam and Mikaela searched inside for the glasses. After scanning a Peterbilt semi-truck as his alt mode, Optimus met up with Bumblebee, Ratchet, Jazz, and Ironhide in an alley and explained their history to Sam and Mikaela, as well as Sam's importance. Without the AllSpark, Cybertron was reduced to a barren wasteland, forcing Optimus, the Autobots, and the Decepticons to abandon their homeworld and flee across space.įollowing a beacon sent by Bumblebee the previous night, Optimus, Jazz, Ironhide, and Ratchet arrived on Earth in their protoform modes. Near the end of the war, after the Ark, along with Sentinel Prime and the Autobots' last hope of winning the war, vanished into space, Optimus was forced to launch the AllSpark into deep space to keep it out of the hands of the Decepticons. When Megatron was corrupted by The Fallen and formed the Decepticons, Optimus rose up against him in a vicious war. Optimus had a mentor by Sentinel Prime, the last Prime before him, and eventually became the leader of the Cybertronian scientific division, while Megatron became Lord High Protector of Cybertron. This raises the question of whether Optimus is the one that was in the first five films, or if it is a different Optimus but with the same character. In the seventh film (Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts) Optimus says " I'm going to take back Scourge's key, and then.take off his head." That is the origin of Optimus Prime's "GIVE ME YOUR FACE" phase. Along with his ending scene in Bumblebee, Optimus Prime had his trailer like in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Though it may be the only weapon we see in the movie, he does have many more. He was more of his G1 counterpart, his vehicle mode being a Freightliner fl86, equipped with his signature ion blaster. He has appeared in all of Michael Bay's Transformers films as well as the reboot Bumblebee film, albeit he is completely redesigned in appearance. When placed under the control of Quintessa, he is named Nemesis Prime. Optimus Prime is a fictional robot superhero and the main protagonist of the Transformers film series and the leader of the Autobots, the last Prime, and the brother of the Decepticon leader Megatron. ![]() Jon Bailey (Bumblebee film Trailers only). Vulkan is currently not supported, however some preliminary development has been made for it. Direct3D 8 (DirectX 8) and older versions of DirectX are supported through dgVoodoo 2. The graphics API that development is focused on is Direct3D 11 (DirectX 11), with Direct3D 12 (DirectX 12), Direct3D 9 (DirectX 9), and OpenGL being of a lower priority. Following this event as well as the simultaneous but unrelated community bans for its developer on the platform, Special K left the Steam platform in favor of a dedicated forum. In July 2020 the product was submitted to Valve for final approval before release, but was denied citing the way it used the Steamworks API as well as marketing that used copyrighted third-party IPs to display its functionality. A new frontend called Special K Injection Frontend (SKIF) began development to serve as such on Steam, and the legacy Special K Install Manager (SKIM) was officially seen as obsolete. This change opened up possibilities for more advanced features that leveraged the Steam platform, and development of Special K transitioned over to using Steam as the delivery method for updates and development branches. In late 2019 after years of having its development be focused on and around the Steam platform and games without itself being an official part of the platform, Special K was submitted and approved for publication on Steam. By leveraging a wrapper for older APIs such as dgVoodoo 2 it is also possible to retrofit some earlier DirectX titles with HDR support. In 2018 the framework innovated a general-purpose method of "retrofitting" HDR output support for existing Direct3D 11-based SDR games in Windows, a feature that has since continued to evolve and in 2020 was updated to support most D3D11 based games compatible with flip model presentation, including some emulators such as Dolphin and PCSX2. Over the years Special K have introduced a number of improvements and fixes for both less known games as well as extremely popular ones, and are often most known for its work on titles such as the Tales of series of games between 20, NieR: Automata in 2017, Monster Hunter: World in 2018, or from one of the multitude of other less known games that has seen a few tweaks or fixes across the years. The framework traces its origin back to 2015 and attempts to fix and improve the state of Batman: Arkham Knight, Fallout 4, and Tales of Zestiria. On top of this the framework includes a number of game-specific changes and optimizations that its developer have come across and fixed over the years, although minor ones are not always exposed to the user. The focus is primarily on the graphics pipeline but the tool also includes features such as input device blocking/configuring, window and volume management, enhancements for some of the in-game functionality of Steam, and more. Basically I look like I’ve been lying out on the sun and have a bad case of sunburn, but the skin is also swollen, my eyes keep running, my nose is blocked and I feel soooo itchy. These are things that I am just intolerant to, not allergic. With me I can eat the food fine, no swelling, no anaphylaxis, (unless it had contained nuts or dairy) but there are some little ingredients, which I have not yet identified which send me into a spin. When I eat out – even if I’m really careful, things can and do go badly wrong. This week I’m recovering from a particularly nasty allergy flare up. ![]() Increased understanding of the array of methods for individual tests and the ways best to interpret result for each test can be critical in optimizing decisions for patient care. I was at this show on the grass maybe 12 rows back on Jer's side.having made the long wet overnight trek from Saratoga (my hometown). For some cosmic reason Healy played 'The Dark Side of the Moon' in its entirety and his choice provided the PERFECT “set and setting” for an incredible night of music and fun. This was also the first show at which the pre show music selection really hit home for me. I repeated his words to myself, under my breath and the dude in front of me turned around and put his forefinger to his lips and went “Shhhhh.” This really blew my mind!!! Later, during Not Fade Away I distinctly heard Bobby say, “Everybody ready?” at a point during the song intro when he was NOWHERE near his mic stand. This pic must have been made while Phil was singing Tom Thumb Blues (see photo's section of ) which was quite heavy for me as I and my concert going buddy Al were both out of our minds (and bodies.) I recall a tall gentleman, right in the middle of the crowd between the stage and soundboard putting his arms around his friends and he seemed to encompass 15 people with each arm. The moist throng voiced our disapproval of his weather forecast as he retired to the enclave backstage and a good laugh was had by all. As the crowd cheered his appearance he made a show of looking around at the cloudy skies and finally made a gesture that suggested it was too wet for a concert that day.
